The Recycling Assistant assists customers and District staff with the collection and processing of recyclable materials and Household Hazardous Waste while helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment at District facilities.

Purpose of the Position

The Recycling Assistant supports the daily operations of the Recycling Center, Household Hazardous Waste program, and other District recycling services. This position assists customers with unloading recyclable materials, helps process and prepare materials for shipment, maintains facility cleanliness and safety standards, and supports special events and community recycling initiatives. The Recycling Assistant works closely with the Operations Manager and other staff to ensure residents receive safe, efficient, and professional service.

Position Details

Part-Time Position
• Approximately 15–25 hours per week
• Hours may vary based on operational needs
• Some Saturday hours may be required
• Ability to work at both the Vincennes and Monroe City locations is preferred

Qualifications
• Valid driver's license preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
