Education is critical to the success of any solid waste reduction and recycling effort.
We must all do our part to reduce, reuse, recycle and properly dispose of the waste items we produce. The Knox County Recycling and Solid Waste Management District is committed to providing valuable, comprehensive educational programs. We reach out to schools, groups and individuals in the community to provide meaningful educational opportunities to Knox County residents. To schedule a program for your group or organization contact Michelle Smith.

ABC-Caps for Benches Program
The district has partnered up with Greentree Plastics in Evansville Indiana to bring Knox County the ABC Caps for benches program. This project is a program that allows groups to recycle caps from various types of plastic bottles and jugs and turn them into benches. This program is a great way to introduce recycling efforts and give back to the community.
